The 2017 F-TYPE SVR is a top contender for the 2016 Best Driver's Car award

A few months ago, the 2017 Jaguar F-TYPE took part in Motor Trend's "2016 Best Driver's Car" competition, where a dozen performance sports cars from around the globe went head-to-head for superiority.

Watch the video below for some driver-perspective footage, great commentary, and some simply gorgeous engine sounds coming from the 575-horsepower F-TYPE SVR sports coupe.

Tragically, the F-TYPE SVR placed a mere ninth out of twelve contenders, though it did beat out a Nissan GTR, a BMW M4 GTS, and a Martin V12 Vantage S.

Professional driver Pobst had this to say about the spirited, high-performance sports sedan:

“This is by far the best-handling Jaguar I’ve driven, and it catapults to one of my favorite cars in this test... A really satisfying car to drive on corner entry; power doesn’t seem to change the car’s balance a lot. It’s like I’m carving the friction circle.”

The Jaguar F-TYPE has always been a favorite for drivers in Richmond, but the 2017 model--and its supercharged new trim level--is even better than ever.
