New I-PACE Concept Introduces the First All-Electric Sports Car from Jaguar

In one stunning, blistering, and sobering commercial, Jaguar has thrown down the gauntlet to other premium luxury-car brands:

Get with the times, or fall behind.

While it's long been the responsibility of the luxury performance car world to produce the biggest engines, the most brilliant exteriors, the loudest motors, and the most extravagant showmanship, models like the Tesla S and, now, the Jaguar I-PACE Concept are showing us that it may be time to make a change.

Gone are the days of the fuel-quaffing, screaming American muscle cars; replaced by the true need for sophisticated performance, a move away from conventional fuels, and a cleaner future.

But that doesn't mean that we must be limited to boxy shapes and under-powered motors--even though the Prius has served an important role in its time.

?Jaguar thinks we can enjoy the very best of both worlds: fuel-free performance and impeccable style.

The concept arrives as an all-electric performance SUV, honed to perfection to deliver exceptional aerodynamics and efficiency. The current I-PACE concept offers 400 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of "instant" torque (a unique benefit to electric vehicles), and has a 0-60 sprint time of just around 4 seconds.

All without a single sip of gasoline.

The Jaguar I-PACE production car will be released sometime in mid-2018.

We look forward to its arrival. What about you?
